"This corpus explores the first alchemical phase, the Nigredo, through a ritual of primordial transformation. The Man, whose mask of darkness symbolizes the Agent of Dissolution, officiates the rite upon a bound female figure. The blood spilled, far from being a sign of violence, is the Sacrificial Essence, the vital matter offered to the earth and to the process of purification. The culminating gesture—the restitution of the blood upon the woman's face—is a baptism of rebirth, an ancestral mark that transforms darkness into vision. The blood, reacquired and reconsecrated, closes the cycle of initiatory death, promising the Albedo and the regeneration of the Self."
